Rashmika Mandanna Adopts 400 Families; Kodagu Families Among Beneficiaries

Hyderabad: Kodagu native actor Rashmika Mandanna has announced a philanthropic initiative to support 400 families at a time by covering their grocery expenses for three months, with plans to continue the effort over the next year. The initiative will also benefit families in Kodagu, her home district.
The actor shared the announcement on social media, saying she hoped the initiative would inspire her followers to undertake small acts of kindness and help those in need.
Rashmika, who is awaiting the release of Ranabaali, said her character Jayamma had several similarities with her personality, including a desire to help others. She explained that she had previously kept such charitable initiatives private but decided to speak about this effort to encourage more people to contribute to society.
“There is something in the characters you play that influence you. A lot of you keep asking are there any similarities between Jayamma and me and my answer is yes – and this is one of them. This has always been me and this is also her (sic),” she wrote on Instagram.
Explaining her decision to make the initiative public, Rashmika said she had earlier preferred to keep her charitable activities known only to herself and a small circle of people.
However, she said she wanted to share the latest effort in the hope that it would motivate others to undertake similar initiatives.
“I would always keep doing things like this for all the love that you give me. But always kept it under the wraps because I thought if I knew and just my team knew and just a bunch of us knew, it was enough. But now I am opening up about this because I am thinking, if this could influence you lovelies out there to do anything like this, I would be happy (sic),” she said.
Under the initiative, the actor will support 400 families at a time by covering their grocery expenses for three months. She plans to continue the programme over the next year, enabling families to save money that would otherwise be spent on essential household provisions.
“So hence I thought why not start now, with this! I've adopted 400 families today. And I want to just help 400 families at a time for 3 months each and continue this for the next one year and hope that they can save that money of groceries and use it to save and plan their futures better (sic),” she wrote.
Urging her followers to participate in acts of kindness, Rashmika emphasised that even small contributions could make a meaningful difference in someone's life.
“Even a small act of kindness can change a person's life, and it doesn't have to be big. Let's all start with something small!” she added.
Reflecting on her professional journey, the actor said the smiles of the families she helped made the struggles, injuries, sleepless nights and emotional challenges she had faced over the years worthwhile.
