Kodagu-Native Police Receives Appreciation from Indian Ambassador to Mexico
Bengaluru: Head Constable HM Lokesh, popularly known as ‘BCPman’ (Bengaluru City Police man), has received letters of appreciation from India’s Ambassador to Mexico, Dr Pankaj Sharma, recognising his service at the Indian Embassy in Mexico City over three consecutive years.
A native of Kodagu, Lokesh served as an India Based Security Assistant (IBSA) at the embassy from March 10, 2023, to March 10, 2026, on a three-year deputation through the Ministry of External Affairs. His responsibilities included security arrangements, visitor profiling and supporting the embassy’s digital presence, according to a report in Deccan Herald.
Sharma issued letters of appreciation on March 19, 2024, November 15, 2025, and September 30, 2026, commending Lokesh’s sincerity, discipline and dedication to duty.
In the latest letter, the ambassador praised Lokesh for remaining available beyond regular working hours, including weekends and public holidays, and for responding responsibly to unforeseen situations and additional responsibilities. His contributions to the mission’s public diplomacy and digital outreach activities were also acknowledged.
The letter further highlighted Lokesh’s initiative in learning Spanish, which helped him communicate effectively with visitors and locally recruited staff at the embassy.
Lokesh joined the Karnataka police force in 2010 and managed Bengaluru City Police’s social media platforms from 2012 to 2022. During this period, he became widely known as ‘BCPman’ for his association with the police department’s digital outreach.
His three-year international deputation has now earned him repeated recognition for his commitment to duty and service to the country.
