LIVE UPDATES: Get ready for the thrill of the Kodava Cricket Festival 2024, as The Kodagu Express brings you exclusive Live Updates straight from the action-packed event! Organized by the  Aramanamada Family, the 'Aramanamada Cricket Namme - 2024' promises an electrifying experience for sports enthusiasts and cricket aficionados alike.


The Aramanamada Cricket Namme has set the stage for a spectacle as the 22nd Annual Kodava Inter Family Cricket Tournament is scheduled to be inaugurated on Sunday 21 April. 


Event Schedule:


The day will commence with an assembly at the Ganapathi Temple at 8:00 AM, followed by an offering prayer until 8:20 AM. A vibrant procession from the temple to the cricket ground will ensue from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM, accompanied by the introduction of the KJYMC Club Riders and a refreshing interlude of refreshments.


As the morning progresses, the anticipation builds with the arrival of guests at 10:00 AM, marked by the solemnity of flag hoisting ceremonies representing the Kodava Cricket Academy and the Aramanamada family. This will be followed by a series of engaging speeches and cultural performances, including a program by Cauvery College, Virajpet, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region.


The highlight of the day will undoubtedly be the guest match between North Coorg and South Coorg teams, scheduled for 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by an exciting ladies' match extending into the evening.

Chief Guest of the inaugural event is Maj. Gen. Paruvangada M. Kariappa (Vishisht Seva Medal) and Special Guest is  Ajjikuttira S. Ponnanna Legal advisor to Chief Minister of Karnataka, and MLA of Virajpet constituency. 



About Aramanamada Family


Regarding the Aramanamada Family, Aramanamada K Suresh, President of the Aramanamada Cricket Cup 2024 elaborated, "Aramanamada Family holds a significant place among the 842 plus Okkas in Kodagu. Our ancestors served the Raja in his palace, hence earning the name Aramanemada, which evolved to Aramanamada over time. With a total of 90 families spread along the banks of Lakshmana Tirtha river, our Ainmamane is situated at Besagoor, and our family members are dispersed across Kodagu and beyond."
