New Delhi: Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya has been invited to attend the Chennanda Hockey Festival in Kodagu, widely regarded as the cradle of hockey in Karnataka.

This time, the Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports has also been invited and he has assured his presence,” Mr. Wadiyar said.
Office-bearers of the Chennanda Hockey Festival organising committee, led by Mr. Wadiyar, met Mr. Mandaviya in New Delhi on Monday and formally invited him to attend the valedictory ceremony as the chief guest.
Mr. Wadiyar said extensive preparations were being made to ensure the festival was conducted in a systematic and befitting manner, with all necessary arrangements progressing steadily. He added that the invitation was extended in person during the meeting with the Union Minister.
After accepting the invitation, Mr. Mandaviya sought details about Kodagu’s rich hockey legacy and the historic significance of the Chennanda Hockey Festival. He later conveyed his consent to attend the event, Mr. Wadiyar said in a press release issued here.

The organisers expressed gratitude to Mr. Wadiyar for facilitating the invitation in New Delhi and said his continued support and guidance had been instrumental in ensuring the festival is organised in the best possible manner.
