Kodagu Bodybuilder Competes at National-Level University Physique Championship

Competing in the 85 kg category, Kariappa took part alongside participants from universities across the country.

Mysuru: Nellira Ravi Kariappa from Kodagu recently represented the Coorg and Mysore region at the All India University Best Physique Bodybuilding National Level Competition held in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, from March 2 to March 4.

Competing in the 85 kg category, Kariappa took part alongside participants from universities across the country. Though he did not secure a placement in the competition, he said the opportunity to compete at the national level was a significant milestone in his bodybuilding journey.

Originally from Birunani village near Hudikeri in Ponnampet taluk of Kodagu district, Kariappa is the son of late Nellira Bopaiah and Nellira Chinnamma(Thamane: Monnanda family). He is currently settled in Hunsur in neighbouring Mysuru district.

Meanwhile, on March 6, Kariappa secured first place in the Mr Muscle Mania 2026 Inter-Collegiate Bodybuilding Competition held in Mysuru. After winning his category, he went on to compete in the title round and was honoured with the “Champion of Champions – Mr Muscle Mania 2026” title.

“This victory is a proud moment in my bodybuilding journey,” Kariappa said. He added that participating in national-level events and competitions continues to motivate him to train harder and return stronger in future contests.
