Mysuru/Florida(USA): Mysuru-based golfer Drishti Karumbaya, also native of Kodagu, has won the Trump International Golf Championship at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, according to reports.
The 24-year-old celebrated her victory alongside U.S. President Donald Trump, who also won a tournament in the men’s division at his own Florida club.
Announcing his win on social media, Trump wrote, “I just won the Golf Club Championship, probably my last, at Trump International Golf Club, in Palm Beach County, Florida. Such a great honour!” He also mentioned an awards dinner at the club, expressing gratitude to the golf staff and fellow participants.
Drishti is the daughter of Dr. P.G. Karumbaya (Palachanda Chethan), a dentist, and Swetha Karumbaya, residents of Yadavagiri in Mysuru. The family hails from Kodagu.
According to family members, Drishti is a golf instructor at Clark Atlanta University and a member of the Trump International Golf Club. She has been playing golf since the age of nine.
