Bengaluru: Kodagu’s young badminton player B. Diya Bheemaiah has brought laurels to the district by winning the Yonex Sunrise Junior All India Ranking Badminton Tournament held at the Karnataka Badminton Association in Bengaluru from May 3 to 10, 2026.

With this impressive victory, Diya has secured a direct place in the Indian Junior Team for the upcoming Badminton Asia Junior Championship 2026, which is scheduled to be held in Yatsushiro from June 26 to July 5.

Diya Bheemaiah hails from Nangala village in Bittangala, Kodagu. The young shuttler’s consistent performances in junior badminton tournaments have earned her recognition at the national level.
