The State government announced 70 recipients of the annual award on Thursday, ahead of the Karnataka Rajyotsava celebrations to be held on November 1. The awards recognise personalities from across Karnataka for their outstanding service in various fields.
With over three decades of experience, Dr. Babina currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer at the 550-bed Jindal Nature Cure and Yoga Hospital in Bengaluru. Speaking to The Kodagu Express after the announcement, Dr. Babina said, “I have been serving under the AYUSH Department in the fields of yoga, naturopathy, health, and nutrition. For several years, I have been working to bring the practical benefits of AYUSH systems to the people of Karnataka, while emphasising the importance of health and the need for a holistic lifestyle.”
She added that her work focuses on preventive medicine, improved dietary practices, and the integration of yoga, pranayama, mudras, and naturopathy treatments to help people achieve both physical and mental well-being.
“Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, I actively worked to spread awareness about building immunity and managing respiratory issues through yoga and naturopathy,” she said, noting that her efforts were aimed at encouraging people to adopt a balanced and sustainable lifestyle.
The Rajyotsava award carries a cash prize of ₹5 lakh, a 25-gram gold medal, and a citation. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will present the awards at a formal ceremony on Saturday, November 1.
