Madikeri: IPS officer R.N. Bindu Mani assumed charge as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Kodagu district on Thursday, following a government order issued a day earlier.

The Karnataka government on Wednesday ordered the transfer of the incumbent SP Ramarajan, posting him to Belagavi district. The move is part of a routine administrative reshuffle, according to officials.

Bindu Mani was posted to Kodagu after the vacancy arose due to Ramarajan’s transfer. Prior to this assignment, she was serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) in Mysuru city. A 2021-batch Indian Police Service officer of the Karnataka cadre, she has also served as Superintendent of Police, Intelligence-1, Bengaluru.

A native of Bengaluru, she is the daughter of a Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) head constable and secured the 468th rank in the Civil Services Examination in her first attempt.
