Four Youths from Kodagu Killed in Tragic Road Accident

Madikeri: In a tragic accident near Devarkolli in Kodagu district, four young men from Gonikoppal lost their lives following a head-on collision between a car and a lorry. The incident occurred around 12:50 PM on Friday when a car heading from Madikeri to Sullia collided with a lorry coming from the opposite direction.

The deceased have been identified as Nihad, Riswan, Rakib, and Reeshu all residents of Market Road in Gonikoppa, according to TV1 News Kodagu. They were travelling together in the car at the time of the accident. Locals reported that the impact of the collision was so severe that the vehicle was completely mangled.

A team of local youths, from Sampaje, rushed to the scene and helped shift the injured victims in four ambulances to Sullia Government Hospital. However, despite their prompt efforts, all four victims were declared brought dead.

The bodies have been kept at the hospital for postmortem, and a case has been registered by the police. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident. Further details are awaited.
