Jeep Driver Booked for Running Over Dogs in Kodagu Village

Kushalnagar: The Kushalnagar Town Police have registered a case and initiated further action in connection with an incident in which a jeep driver allegedly ran over several dogs in Madapatna village near Kushalnagar in Kodagu district.
The incident occurred at around 7 a.m. on Tuesday on the road in front of Sri Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Madapatna. According to local residents, the jeep was allegedly driven negligently and ran over a group of stray and pet dogs that were resting by the roadside.
The incident, which was reportedly captured on CCTV cameras, has triggered widespread outrage among villagers and animal lovers. Residents claimed that three dogs sustained serious injuries, including fractured hips, and required immediate attention. The injured animals were later cared for by local residents and volunteers.
Villagers strongly condemned the incident and alleged that the driver showed little regard for the safety of the animals. They demanded strict action against the person responsible and urged authorities to ensure that such incidents do not recur.
Following complaints from residents and the circulation of CCTV footage, the Kushalnagar Town Police registered a case and began further investigation. Police are expected to examine the footage and gather additional evidence as part of the inquiry.
