Commuting between Kodagu & Bengaluru to get pricier: Toll hike on Bengaluru-Mysuru Highway


The access-controlled highway, commonly used by travelers visiting Kodagu, will be impacted by the toll rate hike.

Bengaluru: Starting April 1, 2024, commuting between Kodagu and Bengaluru is set to become more expensive as the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced an increase in toll rates on the access-controlled Bengaluru-Mysuru highway.


The access-controlled highway, commonly used by travelers visiting Kodagu, will be impacted by the toll rate hike. Residents of Kodagu who regularly commute between Bengaluru and Kodagu will feel the effects of this toll increase.


For vehicles traversing the 55.63-kilometer Bengaluru-Nidaghatta section of the Bengaluru-Mysuru access-controlled highway, the toll rates have been revised. Cars, vans, and jeeps will now incur a charge of ₹170 for a one-way trip and ₹255 for a round trip within 24 hours, as opposed to the previous rates of ₹165 and ₹250, respectively. Similarly, light commercial vehicles, light goods vehicles, and minibuses will face revised rates of ₹275 for a single journey and ₹415 for a return journey, compared to the previous charges of ₹270 and ₹405, respectively.



As per the NHAI notification, trucks and buses (two axles) will face revised toll charges on the access-controlled highway. For a single journey, they will be charged ₹580, and ₹870 for a return trip, up from the previous rates of ₹565 and ₹850, respectively. Additionally, non-commercial vehicles within a 20-kilometer radius of the toll plaza will now be eligible for a monthly pass priced at ₹340, reflecting an increase from the previous price of ₹330. Toll collection will be enforced at the Kaniminike and Sheshagirihalli toll plazas.


On the route from Nidaghatta to Mysuru, toll fees have been adjusted. Cars, vans, and jeeps will now be charged ₹160 for a single journey and ₹240 for a round trip, an increase from the previous rates of ₹155 and ₹235, respectively. Toll collection will be conducted at the Ganangur plaza in Srirangapatna, where the one-way toll for cars is established at ₹330.
