Chekkera Cricket Fest 2025 Concludes in Hudikeri

Hudikeri: The much-awaited Chekkera Cricket Fest 2025 — also known as the Kodava Cricket Cup — concluded on May 19 in Hudikeri with thrilling matches that drew large crowds from across the district.

The Neravanda family emerged victorious in the men’s category, while the Aramanamada family clinched the women’s title, marking a proud moment for both teams in this unique family-based cricket tournament that celebrates Kodava unity and sporting spirit.

The month-long event saw participation from over 300 Kodava families, with matches held in a festive atmosphere. It was announced that the Mukkatira family from Bethri will host the next edition of the Kodava Cricket Cup in 2026, continuing the cherished tradition of family-run cricket in the region. The tournament has grown to become one of Kodagu’s largest cultural and sporting celebrations.
