BSNL Announces Independence Day Offers for Kodagu

According to a press release issued by BSNL’s Kodagu Telecom District office in Madikeri, under the special offer, new customers can get a free 4G SIM.

Madikeri: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced a range of special offers and digital connectivity initiatives in Kodagu as part of its Independence Day celebrations, with the offers available from August 12 to September 12, 2026.

According to a press release issued by BSNL’s Kodagu Telecom District office in Madikeri, under the special offer, new customers can get a free 4G SIM. With a first recharge of Re. 1, customers will receive unlimited calls to any network, 1 GB of high-speed data per day and 100 SMS per day for 24 days. BSNL mobile customers can also access more than 1,000 live television channels, movies, web series, music and devotional content free of cost through the BSNL Self Care App.

Customers can switch to BSNL through Mobile Number Portability (MNP) without changing their existing number. New SIM cards can also be booked through the BSNL Self Care App or WhatsApp at 1800 4444.

BSNL has also extended the validity of its ₹2,399 recharge plan to 412 days. The plan offers unlimited calls, 2 GB of data per day and 100 SMS per day.

In Kodagu, BSNL said its 47 Digital Bharat Nidhi 4G towers have helped extend mobile connectivity to villages that were previously not covered by mobile operators. The district has more than 196 mobile towers covering all inhabited villages.

BSNL has also rolled out Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) services across all Gram Panchayats in Kodagu. Under the Independence Day offer, new customers opting for the ₹499 FTTH plan will receive one month of free service and ₹100 off each of the next three monthly bills.

The company is also planning to provide free Wi-Fi roaming access at major railway stations, taluk headquarters, bus stands, hospitals and other busy areas in the district.
