Boppanda Diya Bheemaiah of Kodagu Wins First Place in National Badminton Tournament


Diya, competing in the 19-year-old girls category, teamed up with Haryana’s Baruni Paruswal to clinch the top spot in the prestigious national event.

Panchkula(Haryana): In a remarkable achievement, Boppanda Diya Bheemaiah from Kodagu secured first place in the doubles category of the Yonex-Sunrise Ashwani Gupta Memorial All India Sub-Junior held recently in Panchkula, Haryana. 


Diya, competing in the 19-year-old girls category, teamed up with Haryana’s Baruni Paruswal to clinch the top spot in the prestigious national event.


Diya's exceptional performance in the tournament has brought pride to her hometown of Madikeri, Kodagu. She is currently pursuing her first Pre-University Course (PUC) at Vidyashram PU College in Mysuru. Under the guidance of her coaches Medura Arun Pemmaiah and BP Bheemaiah at Sports Park Academy, Diya has been training rigorously, showcasing her dedication and passion for the sport.


Diya Bheemaiah is the daughter of Boppanda Kusuma and Bheemaiah, residents of Dechur in Madikeri, Kodagu. Her victory has brought great joy to her family, who have been supportive of her journey in badminton.
