Madikeri: The Kodagu district administration has announced a one-day closure of all Anganwadi centres across the district on May 28, 2025, in view of continued heavy rain and strong winds in the region.
The decision was taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of children enrolled in these centres. In an official communication, the Deputy Commissioner of Kodagu stated that the move is aimed at avoiding any potential risk to Anganwadi children amid the prevailing weather conditions.
While the centres will remain shut for a day, the administration has instructed that the supplementary nutrition for the day must still be distributed to all beneficiaries in the form of Take Home Ration (THR). Staff have been directed to ensure that the distribution is recorded accurately on the Poshan Tracker, a national platform that monitors nutrition delivery.
Kodagu district has been witnessing persistent rain over the past few days.
