Wild Elephant Rescued from Railway Barricade in Kushalnagar

Following its release, the elephant crossed the Cauvery stream and safely entered the forest.

Madikeri: A female wild elephant was successfully rescued by the Forest Department after it became trapped in a railway barricade fence at Valnur in Kushalnagar taluk.

According to Range Forest Officer (RFO) Rathan, the elephant had been moving from a plantation towards the forest when it attempted to cross the railway barricade and got stuck. Local residents who noticed the struggling elephant quickly alerted the Forest Department.

"Upon receiving the information, our team promptly reached the site. We loosened the bolts of the barricade, allowing the elephant to free herself. She then calmly moved back into the forest," said RFO Rathan.
