WATCH: Jeep Runs Over Dogs in Kodagu Village, CCTV Footage Sparks Outrage

Kushalanagar: A jeep driver allegedly ran over several dogs in Madapatna village near Kushalanagar in Kodagu district on Tuesday morning, triggering outrage among local residents and demands for strict action against the driver.

The incident, which was reportedly captured on CCTV cameras, occurred around 7 a.m. on the road in front of Sri Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Madapatna. According to villagers, the jeep was driven negligently and ran over a group of stray and pet dogs that were resting by the roadside.

Residents alleged that three dogs sustained serious injuries in the incident, including fractured hips. The injured animals were later attended to by local residents and animal lovers.

The incident has sparked anger among villagers, who condemned the alleged cruelty and called for immediate intervention by the police and animal welfare authorities. They urged officials to identify the driver and initiate legal action.

Villagers also raised concerns over rash and high-speed driving in the area, particularly during the early morning and night hours, and demanded measures to improve road safety.

The public has appealed to the police to register a case and take appropriate action against those responsible under the provisions of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and other relevant laws.
