Virajpet Gets New Overnight KSRTC Sleeper Bus Link to Bengaluru and Kannur

Bengaluru: Virajpet will be connected to a new overnight Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) non-air-conditioned sleeper bus service between Bengaluru and Kannur from August 7, offering passengers in Kodagu an additional travel option to both Karnataka's capital and northern Kerala.


According to a KSRTC press release, the service will originate from Madiwala in Bengaluru and pass through Shantinagar TTMC, Mysuru Road Satellite Bus Station, Kengeri, Mysuru, Hunsur, Gonikoppal and Virajpet before proceeding to Iritty, Thalassery and Kannur.



The bus will depart from Madiwala at 8.36 p.m. and is scheduled to arrive in Virajpet at 3.30 a.m. before continuing its journey to Kannur, where it is expected to reach at 6.30 a.m. The fare from Bengaluru to Virajpet has been fixed at ₹600 per passenger, while the fare to Kannur is ₹850.


The corporation said the new service has been introduced for the convenience of the travelling public. The overnight sleeper service is expected to benefit residents of Kodagu, particularly those travelling to Bengaluru or onward to northern Kerala for work, education, tourism and other purposes.


KSRTC said the service will commence operations on August 7 and follow the announced timetable.
