Tree Falls on Anganwadi Centre in Garvale Village, Kodagu; Staffer Injured

Somwarpet: A tree collapsed on the Anganwadi Centre in Garvale village of Somwarpet taluk, Kodagu district, on Monday, causing major damage to the building.

At the time of the incident, Anganwadi assistant Baby was inside the centre and sustained serious injuries. She suffered wounds to her head and chest and was immediately shifted to the district hospital in Madikeri for treatment.

The mishap has raised concerns over the safety of government-run centres, especially during the monsoon.
