Kodagu Police Warn Against Online ‘Coorg Rave Party’ Invitations, Flag Drug Risks
Madikeri: Kodagu Superintendent of Police Bindu Mani R N has cautioned the public against fraudulent social media invitations offering “weekend parties” in the district.
According to the advisory issued by the Kodagu District Police, individuals from outside the district are allegedly using social media platforms to promote weekend parties and collect money from members of the public by making misleading claims.
The police have urged residents and visitors to exercise caution when encountering such advertisements or invitations online. The advisory also warns people to remain alert to the possible involvement of narcotic substances at such events.
The police have specifically advised the public to stay away from advertisements promoting the use of narcotic drugs and not to fall for inducements or offers made by unknown individuals.
The public has also been urged not to share or circulate such messages on social media platforms.
Bindu Mani appealed to people to remain vigilant and verify the authenticity of party-related invitations before making payments or sharing personal information.
The Kodagu Police have urged anyone who comes across suspicious activities or information related to such events to immediately alert the police by contacting the emergency helpline 112.
