Five Arrested for Stealing Avocado Saplings and Fruits in Kodagu
Siddapura: Siddapur police have arrested five people in connection with the alleged theft of avocado saplings and fruits from a coffee estate in Kodagu.
The complaint was filed by K.B. Hasainar, a businessman and resident of School Road in Nellihudikeri. According to the complaint, avocado plants had been cultivated in his coffee estate. Recently, avocado saplings and fruits were allegedly stolen from the estate.
Following the complaint, Siddapur police registered a case and launched an investigation. The investigation led to the arrest of five persons allegedly involved in the theft.
The arrested have been identified as Siddique, Nisar,Harris, Vinod and Shakeer, residents of various parts of the district.
Police said the accused allegedly trespassed into the coffee estate and stole avocado saplings and fruits worth more than ₹60,000. A case has been registered against the five at the Siddapur police station, and further investigation is underway.
