No Shortage of LPG Cylinders in Kodagu, Says Administration

Madikeri: The Kodagu district administration has clarified that there is adequate stock of domestic LPG cylinders in the district and that supply remains uninterrupted, putting to rest concerns triggered by rumours on social media.

In an official release, the administration urged consumers not to panic or rush into booking cylinders unnecessarily. Residents have been advised to book refills only based on their actual requirement, as the existing stock is sufficient to meet demand.

Officials said that consultations have already been held with all LPG distributors in the district to ensure smooth and regulated supply. Distributors have been given strict instructions to continue doorstep delivery services without disruption. The administration reiterated that there is no cause for concern and assured the public that the situation is fully under control.

To address any grievances, a helpline has been established at the office of the Deputy Director, Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs. Consumers can contact the Kodagu Deputy Director’s office at 9845706980. Additional support is available through LPG company officials and taluk-level offices across Madikeri, Virajpet, Somwarpet, Kushalnagar and Ponnampet.

The administration also warned that strict legal action would be taken against hoarding or illegal sale of LPG cylinders under provisions of the Essential Commodities Act.

Deputy Commissioner S.J. Somashekar appealed to the public to cooperate in ensuring smooth and fair distribution of LPG across Kodagu.
