Kodagu District Schools and PU Colleges to Close on July 26 Due to Heavy Rains

The decision comes as the district prepares for intense weather patterns predicted to escalate in the coming days.

Madikeri: Kodagu Deputy Commissioner Venkataraja has announced a precautionary measure amidst anticipated severe weather conditions. In response to the looming threat of heavy rainfall and Orange alert in place, all schools and Pre-University (PU) colleges in the district will remain closed on Friday, 26 July.

The decision comes as the district prepares for intense weather patterns predicted to escalate in the coming days. Authorities are on high alert following weather forecasts indicating potential risks associated with the anticipated downpour.

"Given the forecast for heavy rainfall and Orange alert by the weather department to Kodag, we have decided to declare a holiday for schools and PU colleges on Friday," Venkataraja stated.

Residents and educational institutions have been advised to exercise caution and stay updated with official announcements from local authorities. Efforts are underway to monitor the situation closely and mitigate any adverse impacts caused by the inclement weather.

Local residents are urged to adhere to safety guidelines and remain vigilant as the district braces itself for the upcoming weather challenges. Further updates regarding the situation will be provided as the situation evolves.

For now, the closure of educational institutions on Friday serves as a proactive measure to ensure the well-being of students and staff amidst the anticipated heavy rainfall in Kodagu.
