Incessant Rain Prompts School, College Holiday in Kodagu on June 16

Madikeri: In view of the continued rainfall in Kodagu district, a holiday has been declared for Anganwadis, primary and high schools, and pre-university colleges tomorrow (June 16), as per the order issued by the Deputy Commissioner. However, the II PU exam-3 will be held as scheduled, the district administration has clarified.

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Kodagu is likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next two days, followed by moderate rainfall for the remaining part of the week. The district falls under South Interior Karnataka, which has been experiencing monsoon activity that is expected to continue through the week.

June 15 (Sunday): Heavy to very heavy rain with sustained winds of 40–50 kmph likely at one or two places.
June 16 (Monday): Heavy to very heavy rain expected at isolated places. Winds may continue at 40–50 kmph.
June 17 (Tuesday): Heavy to very heavy rain expected at one or two locations with slightly reduced wind speed of 30–40 kmph.
June 18 (Wednesday): Light to moderate rain likely at many places.
June 19 (Thursday): Light to moderate rain expected at a few places.
June 20 (Friday): Light to moderate rain likely at a few places.
June 21 (Saturday): Light to moderate rain likely at a few locations across the district.
