Farmers’ Meet in Siddapura, Kodagu to Empower Coffee Growers on September 26

Siddapura: Coffee growers in Kodagu will come together for a Farmers’ Meet on September 26, 2025, organised by ITC Limited - ABD (Coffee). The event will be hosted at the Kodava Cultural Association, Siddapura, from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm, followed by lunch.
The meet is designed to strengthen the coffee farming community by providing a platform for knowledge-sharing, practical training, and interactive discussions. Farmers will get an opportunity to engage directly with scientists and experts to address challenges, explore solutions, and learn about innovations in coffee cultivation.
According to a release by ITC - ABD The gathering will feature two distinguished guests: Dr. Muralidhara B.M, Senior Scientist at the Central Horticultural Experiment Station, Chettalli and Dr. S.A. Nadaf, Scientist at the Coffee Board’s Central Coffee Research Sub-Station (CRSS), Chettalli. They will guide farmers on sustainable agricultural practices, productivity enhancement, and emerging trends in coffee farming.
The agenda of the meeting includes:
1. Awareness Session – Value-added activities in coffee farms to boost income and sustainability.
2. Practical Demonstration– Steps to meet European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) requirements, ensuring compliance with global standards.
3. Interactive Engagement– Cupping sessions to help farmers understand quality parameters and market expectations.
Organisers highlighted that the event aims to build stronger farming networks and provide actionable insights for better yields and international market readiness. With Kodagu being a leading coffee-producing district, such initiatives are expected to benefit the entire community by promoting innovation and resilience.
