Coorgi Women are Beautiful, I’m Married to One: Vijay Deverakonda’s Heartfelt Speech in Kodagu

Virajpet: Actor Vijay Deverakonda charmed guests with a heartfelt speech at his Kodagu reception, declaring, “Coorgi women are very beautiful, and I’m married to one,” as he celebrated his wife, Rashmika Mandanna, during the couple’s first visit to the hill district after their wedding.

The reception, held on April 6 in Kodagu (Coorg), brought together family and close friends in a traditional setting. The visit also coincided with Rashmika’s 30th birthday celebrations and included a trip to the revered Igguthappa Temple, a prominent shrine in the region.

Speaking at the event, Vijay reminisced about his earlier visits to Kodagu, revealing that this was his third time in the district. He noted that his first trip was with school friends, long before he met Rashmika, and described Coorg as his first holiday destination. In a personal anecdote, he shared that during one of his earlier stays, he had unknowingly stayed at the house of one of Rashmika’s friends.

Expressing his growing affection for the region, Vijay described Kodagu as “a beautiful place” he had come to love over time. He added that he had always admired the beauty of women from the region, even before meeting Rashmika, drawing applause from the gathering.

The couple’s reception reflected Kodava traditions, with Rashmika dressed in a silk saree draped in the distinctive Kodava style, symbolising her roots. Vijay complemented the occasion in a formal black blazer paired with a white shirt and black trousers.

The event marked a blend of personal celebration and cultural connection, as the couple embraced Kodagu’s heritage while sharing intimate moments from their journey together.
