Annual fair of Mrityunjaya Temple in Badagarakeri from Feb 19 to 29

Ponnampet: The annual festival of Mrityunjaya Temple will be held in Badagarakeri village in South Kodagu from February 19 to 29. 


According to temple management, special Pujas, Abhishekam, Irubelaku, Nitya Puja, Tulabhara will be held every day from 5 am onwards, Tuchambali, Utsav Murti Pradakshina, Darshan will be held after 7 pm. 



In a release by temple management, it is stated that the anniversary's concluding day, February 29, will feature a series of special events. At 3:00 p.m., there will be unique pujas followed by the ceremonial firing of 12 coconuts. The day continues with the Darshan of the Utsava Murti and Avabrata Sanna at 5:00 p.m., while at 8:30 p.m., all the women from the village dressed in traditional attire will extend a warm welcome to the Utsava Murthi. Additionally, a program of devotional songs by the Srinivas team is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., accompanied by a special decoration puja and a food offering program.


Everyday morning, afternoon and night Tirtha Prasada and food offerings have also been arranged for the devotees.


The Mrityunjaya Temple, located in the Kodagu district, stands as a prominent religious site drawing devotees in the hundreds of thousands annually. Pilgrims, particularly from Bengaluru, Mysuru, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, journey to this temple from various places to pay their respects.
