WATCH: Election Commission Unveils Kodava Cultural Video to Promote Voting Awareness

Bengaluru: With the Lok Sabha elections looming on the horizon, the Election Commission of India is leaving no stone unturned to ensure maximum voter turnout. In a bid to foster voting awareness among the citizens, the Karnataka State Election Commission has embarked on a unique initiative, presenting a mesmerizing video in the Kodava language along with its cultural representations.


The recently unveiled video showcases the rich cultural heritage of Karnataka's Kodava community, featuring the traditional Kodava dance forms and music. A group of Kodava women, adorned in vibrant attire, stands gracefully in front of the Ainmane, the ancestral house of Kodavas, symbolizing the deep-rooted cultural ethos of the community.

In addition to the cultural elements, the video also pays homage to the valiant history of Kodavas in the Indian Army. Through poignant visuals, it portrays a Kodava mother performing aarti for her son, an army man, highlighting the community's long standing tradition of serving the nation with valor and pride.


The Parliamentary elections in Karnataka are scheduled to be conducted in two phases, with 14 constituencies voting in each phase. The constituencies in South Karnataka will head to the polls on April 26, while those in North Karnataka will follow suit on May 7.


With innovative initiatives like these, the Election Commission endeavors to ensure robust participation in the democratic process, urging every eligible voter to exercise their right to vote for a better future.
