MADIKERI: In view of the continuous heavy rains lashing Kodagu district over the past two days, a two-day holiday has been declared for all colleges and Anganwadi centres on May 26 and 27.
Kodagu University Vice-Chancellor Ashok Sangappa Alur has issued an official order declaring holidays for all affiliated, government, and aided degree colleges under the university’s jurisdiction. As the India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for the region and forecast strong winds and heavy rainfall, the precautionary measure has been taken in the interest of the safety of children.
Authorities have advised residents to remain alert and take necessary precautions during the ongoing extreme weather conditions.
