Madikeri: Kodagu's coffee growers are experiencing a positive market trend as Robusta coffee cherry prices rise.

As of January 4, 2025, the price of Robusta Cherry EP in Kodagu is EP-414 (spot lift).

Kodagu, located in Karnataka’s Western Ghats, plays a vital role in India’s coffee production, celebrated for its premium Robusta and Arabica varieties. The region's optimal climatic conditions—high altitude, abundant rainfall, and fertile soil—enhance the quality of its coffee beans.

The spot lift price for Robusta coffee cherry was recorded at ₹12,000 per bag on January 4, 2025.

Kodagu’s coffee production is a major contributor to India’s overall coffee exports, making it a cornerstone of the region’s economy. Both local and export markets are anticipated to play a key role in further stabilizing prices in the coming weeks.
