KSRTC Bus Crashes Into Coffee Estate Near Virajpet, Kodagu

The incident occurred around 7 am near a sharp curve close to Cauvery College, just outside Virajpet town.

VIRAJPET: A Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus travelling from Madikeri to Kolar veered off the road and plunged into a coffee estate near Virajpet on Monday morning after the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle.

The incident occurred around 7 am near a sharp curve close to Cauvery College, just outside Virajpet town. The bus, carrying several passengers, was negotiating the bend when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to leave the road and crash into the adjacent plantation.

Fortunately, all passengers escaped without serious injuries, according to police. Local residents rushed to the scene to assist, and authorities were soon informed. An official investigation is underway to determine the exact cause.

The KSRTC bus sustained little damage in the incident, and efforts were on to recover the vehicle from the estate. Traffic movement on the route was briefly disrupted but later restored.
