Madikeri: The Kodagu District Police has intensified its surveillance of social media platforms to identify and act against individuals sharing inflammatory content laced with offensive language.
Kodagu Superintendent of Police (SP) K Ramarajan has confirmed that the department will register First Information Reports (FIRs) against those involved, following approval from the court.

SP Ramarajan stated that individuals found guilty of sharing such objectionable messages will be listed as accused. Additionally, repeat offenders will face continued monitoring, and legal action will be pursued to ensure accountability.
The police department had earlier issued clear directives prohibiting the circulation of defamatory or incendiary content targeting specific communities or individuals. Authorities have emphasised that legal proceedings will be initiated against anyone spreading false information, creating public fear, engaging in defamation, or attempting to disrupt communal harmony through social media.
