Kodagu Coffee Growers’ Cooperative Society Plans Instant Coffee Powder Outlets in Madikeri, Hunsur
Madikeri: The Kodagu Coffee Growers’ Cooperative Society plans to open outlets selling instant coffee powder at its head office in Madikeri and its unit in Hunsur, as part of efforts to cater to changing consumer preferences.
Society president Napanda Ravi Kalappa said the younger generation is increasingly opting for instant coffee, prompting the society to introduce its own instant coffee powder and make it available through dedicated outlets.
Speaking at a press conference in Madikeri, Kalappa said that the society recorded a net profit of ₹67.49 lakh during 2025–26. The society earned ₹96.73 lakh through its trading operations in Kushalnagar and another ₹20.44 lakh from its Hebbal operation, taking the combined net profit from the two units to ₹117.17 lakh. After accounting for a loss of ₹49.67 lakh at the head office, the society posted an overall net profit of ₹67.49 lakh.
The society has 9,232 members, of whom 2,839 have completed their share capital contribution. As of March 31, 2026, members’ share capital stood at ₹126.90 lakh, while the State Government’s contribution was ₹304.78 lakh, taking the total share capital to ₹431.68 lakh.
Kalappa said the society’s annual general meeting will be held on September 23 at 12.30 p.m. at the Kodava Samaja in Madikeri.
