Kodagu Launches 'Anywhere' Property Registration System Today: Here’s What You Need to Know

This initiative, which simplifies the property registration process, aligns with the Karnataka government's Budget 2024 announcements.

Madikeri: Starting Monday(September 2), residents of Kodagu district can take advantage of the 'Anywhere' registration system, allowing them to choose any sub-registrar office within the district for property registrations. 

This initiative, which simplifies the property registration process, aligns with the Karnataka government's Budget 2024 announcements, aimed at making property transactions more accessible and efficient.

The Kodagu Deputy Commissioner, Venkata Raja, announced the launch of this system in the district. He encouraged the public to utilize the new facility, which promises to streamline property registration by offering greater flexibility in choosing sub-registrar offices.

Prior to the implementation of the 'Anywhere' system, property buyers and sellers were required to visit the specific jurisdictional sub-registrar office for their property registration. This often led to delays due to limited availability of slots and the inconvenience of having to travel to a particular office. The introduction of the 'Anywhere' registration system is expected to alleviate these issues by allowing the public to select the nearest or most convenient sub-registrar office within their district.

A senior official from the Revenue Department highlighted the benefits of the new system, stating, "'Anywhere' registration not only increases transparency in the registration process but also reduces the time required for registration. It offers the public the flexibility to choose a sub-registrar office where registration slots are readily available, ensuring a smoother and faster registration process."

The 'Anywhere' registration system was first introduced in Bengaluru in 2011 and has since been expanded to other districts, including Belagavi and Tumkur, in March 2024. The successful implementation in these districts has led to its extension to Kodagu, providing residents with a more efficient and user-friendly property registration experience.
