India International Coffee Festival 2026 draws 20,000 visitors to Bengaluru

Bengaluru: The 2026 edition of the India International Coffee Festival (IICF) began this week at Chamara Vajra on Jayamahal Road in Bengaluru, drawing stakeholders from across the coffee value chain. The event is being hosted by the Specialty Coffee Association of India (SCAI) with the backing of the Coffee Board of India.

Organisers estimate a footfall of more than 20,000 attendees across the three-day event. Participants include plantation owners, curing works, exporters, roasters, machinery suppliers, café chains, professional baristas, and coffee enthusiasts. The platform is designed to encourage partnerships, facilitate the sharing of expertise, promote innovation, and expand access to markets.

With today marking the concluding day, the festival has highlighted India’s growing stature in the global coffee landscape. Kurma Rao, Chief Executive Officer and Secretary of the Coffee Board of India, noted that Indian coffee is increasingly being acknowledged for its quality and range. He said forums like IICF are crucial in linking growers to buyers, fostering best practices, and strengthening both domestic consumption and overseas trade over the long term.

The exhibition follows a comprehensive “farm-to-cup” model, covering cultivation, post-harvest processing, roasting techniques, and brewing methods. Visitors have been able to take part in guided tastings, skill-building sessions, and competitive events.

Adding to the vibrancy, the festival has featured live performances by Shankar Iyer and Mysore Xpress, stand-up comedian Sonu Venugopal, percussionist Roberto Narain’s drum jam, and street dance acts by Onslaught Crew.

Key competitions held during the festival include the Indian Filter Coffee Championship, National Barista Championship, National Latte Art Championship, National Brewers Cup, Coffee in Good Spirits, and Instant Coffee contests.
