Gen. K.S. Thimayya’s Birth Anniversary Commemorated in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: The birth anniversary of General K.S. Thimayya was commemorated on Monday, March 31, 2025, with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at his memorial at the ASC Centre in Bengaluru. The event, organised by Kodava Samaja Bengaluru in collaboration with the ASC Centre, saw participation from veterans and members of the Kodava community.
The ceremony began at 8:30 a.m., with senior veteran officers and dignitaries paying tribute to the late General, who remains one of India’s most respected military leaders. The management of Kodava Samaja Bengaluru expressed their deep honour in hosting the event and thanked all attendees for their presence.

Following the wreath-laying, guests gathered for light refreshments, reminiscing about General Thimayya’s contributions to the Indian Armed Forces. Serving as the Chief of Army Staff from 1957 to 1961, he played a crucial role in shaping the nation’s military leadership.
“The annual commemoration continues to uphold his legacy, bringing together veterans and the Kodava community in remembrance of his remarkable service,” Kodava Samaja officials said.
