Elephant Attacks Leave Two Injured in Suntikoppa, Kodagu


Husain, a water supply manager, who was injured when an elephant attacked him at the 7th Hosakote Andagove Paisari area

Suntikoppa: On Saturday, two separate incidents of elephant attacks resulted in injuries in Suntikoppa Hobli in Kodagu district. 


The first incident involved Husain, a water supply manager, who was injured when an elephant attacked him at the 7th Hosakote Andagove Paisari area in the Kodagarahalli gram panchayat. The attack occurred around 6 a.m. while Husain was distributing water to local homes. The elephant, which had wandered in from a nearby plantation, used its trunk to push him, causing him to fall into a storm water drain. He is currently receiving medical treatment at the District Hospital in Madikeri.


In another incident, a woman was injured by an elephant at Nallur in the Athur Nallur gram panchayat. She, too, is being treated at the District Hospital in Madikeri.
