Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar, Muzrai Minister Ramalinga Reddy to Attend Cauvery Theerthodbhava in Kodagu

Bengaluru/Madikeri: Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and Transport and Muzrai Minister Ramalinga Reddy will participate in the annual Cauvery Theerthodbhava at Talacauvery in Kodagu on Friday, drawing thousands of devotees to the river’s birthplace. The presiding deity, Goddess Cauvery, will manifest as the sacred spring, or Theertharoopini, at 1:44 p.m..
The ministers are scheduled to arrive at the Bhagamandala Cauvery Junior College helipad at 12:30 p.m. Local MLAs A.S. Ponnanna and Dr. Manthar Gowda, along with other dignitaries, will also attend the auspicious ceremony.
The Kodagu district administration has made elaborate arrangements for the event. The sacred kundike at Talacauvery has been decorated with flowers and lamps, while police barricades and other safety measures have been put in place to manage the expected crowd. A robust police deployment has been arranged, including the SP, ASP, three DySPs, eight inspectors, 21 PSIs, 41 ASIs, 238 head constables, 52 women constables, and personnel from KSRP and DAR units, according to a press release.

To facilitate devotees, KSRTC will run 25 buses between Bhagamandala and Talacauvery, offering free transport. The Bhagandeshwara Temple at Bhagamandala has been illuminated, and necessary arrangements have been made at Triveni Sangama for visitors.
Additional Deputy Commissioner R. Aishwarya confirmed that all preparations have been completed, ensuring a smooth and safe experience for devotees during this sacred occasion.
