Brutal murder: Accused beheads tenth-grade girl in Kodagu on day of her SSLC results

Somwarpet: In a shocking incident in Kodagu, a 30-year-old man brutally murdered a tenth-grade girl who had passed her exam on May 9. The man beheaded the victim and disposed of her body, with the gruesome act taking place in Surlabbi village in Madikeri Taluk.

The victim, was a student at a school in Surlabbi. Despite her school achieving a 100% pass rate in the SSLC examination, she met a tragic end at the hands of the accused, Prakash, a resident of the same village, according to a report published in DH.

According to reports, the accused forcibly dragged Meena from her home in front of her parents before committing the horrendous crime. Meena was the cherished only daughter of Subramani and Muthakki.

The Somwarpet police station has registered the incident and initiated an investigation by Kodagu SP K Ramarajan.

The incident has sparked outrage, especially after it was revealed that the victim's family had arranged her engagement with the accused. Despite objections and intervention from officials of the social welfare department, who advised against the marriage until Meena turned 18, the accused carried out the brutal act after the officials left the premises.
