A-THON to Launch ASHVA 4x4 in Kodagu With Exclusive Test Drives and Off-Road Showcase

Madikeri: Kodagu’s rugged coffee estate terrain is set to welcome a new era of mobility as A-THON, India’s first homegrown Side-by-Side (SSV) and All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) manufacturer, introduces its latest innovation, the ASHVA 4x4, through a series of exclusive events from September 26 to 28.

The three-day programme will include private test drives and a special off-road trail ride, giving farmers, estate owners, and adventure enthusiasts a chance to experience the vehicle’s capabilities first-hand, according to press release by A-THON.

“The ASHVA 4x4, developed in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, and supported by the Karnataka government, has been designed to meet the demanding needs of plantation landscapes,” release added. The company describes it as a breakthrough in farm utility, offering durability, performance, and adaptability for challenging topographies like those in Kodagu.

September 26 & 28: Invite-only private test drives at Pannya, Suntikoppa. Interested participants can seek invitations by contacting +91 9740025534.

September 27: A-THON will participate in a major off-road trail ride, one of Kodagu’s celebrated motorsport traditions. Over 150 vehicles are expected to tackle a 15 km route. The ASHVA 4x4 will be displayed at both the flag-off point (Shri Kumaralingeshwara Swami Temple) and the closing venue (The Blossom Coorg Resort, Somwarpet).

Madikeri MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda, will officially flag off the trail ride, marking the formal debut of A-THON’s technology in the district.

Speaking about the initiative, the company noted that the ASHVA 4x4 is not only built for adventure but also as a practical tool for estate management, offering a reliable solution for farmers navigating difficult terrain.

The launch is being positioned as more than a product showcase. Organisers say it represents a step towards equipping Kodagu’s agricultural sector with advanced mobility options that combine innovation with local utility.
