Soldier on Leave Dies in Road Accident Near Gonikoppal, Kodagu

GONIKOPPAL: A soldier who was on leave tragically died in a road accident near Chennangolli in Gonikoppal on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Biddamada Bipin Bheemaiah (36), a native of Ponnappa Santhe. He was serving in the Indian Army and was posted in Srinagar. He had come home on leave and was attending a family wedding function in Kodagu.

According to reports, the accident occurred when Bipin was returning from a wedding ceremony. His car reportedly lost control and rammed into a tree near Chennangolli. The impact of the crash was severe, and he sustained critical injuries.

Locals rushed to the spot and attempted to shift him to the Gonikoppal Government Hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries before he could receive medical attention. Police have registered a case and are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
