‘Run for Safety’ to Raise Awareness on Road Rules in Kodagu

MADIKERI: In a first-of-its-kind initiative in Kodagu, a “Run for Safety” will be held on April 24, to promote road safety and awareness about traffic rules.


The event is being organised by Mind and Matter and the Muddanda Hockey Festival, in collaboration with the Kodagu District Administration, Kodagu Police Department, District Road Safety Committee, and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).


The run will begin at 7 a.m. from Field Marshal Cariappa Circle (FMC Circle) and proceed towards the Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa (FMKMC) Ground.

Speaking about the initiative, Deepika Appaiah, founder of Mind and Matter, said the event aims to sensitise the public about the importance of obeying traffic regulations and reducing accidents on roads.


Following the run, a short stage programme will be held to highlight key aspects of road safety and responsible driving.


Kodagu Deputy Commissioner Venkat Raja and Superintendent of Police K. Ramarajan, along with officials from the police and district administration, are expected to participate in the run alongside local residents and youth.
