Bhagamandala: Mysuru–Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar has embarked on a foot pilgrimage to Talacauvery to witness the sacred Cauvery Theerthodbhava, an annual event marking the holy emergence of the river Cauvery from its source in the Brahmagiri hills of Kodagu.
The MP began his journey on Friday morning, walking alongside devotees in a traditional gesture of faith and reverence towards the Goddess Cauvery. The Theerthodbhava is one of the most significant religious occasions for devotees across Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, drawing thousands to the birthplace of the river.

Adding to the spiritual fervour, hundreds of members from the Kodava community are also participating in a mass foot march from Bhagamandala to Talacauvery on Friday. The procession, marked by chants, prayers, and traditional attire, reflects the community’s deep cultural and emotional bond with the river, revered as their kuladevata (family deity).
