Kodagu Drops to Fifth Place in Karnataka with 82.21% Pass Rate in SSLC Exam

BENGALURU: The results of the SSLC Class 10 Examination-1 were announced across Karnataka on May 2, with Kodagu district recording an overall pass percentage of 82.21%. While the district performed well, it slipped one position compared to last year, falling to fifth place from its earlier fourth.
A total of 6,255 students from Kodagu appeared for the exams conducted between March 21 and April 4. Of these, 5,142 cleared the examination. The exams were held at 2,818 centres across the state.
Addressing the media in Bengaluru, Minister for School Education and Literacy Madhu Bangarappa said the state’s overall performance has seen a 9% improvement this year. The combined pass percentage, including regular, repeaters, and private candidates, rose to 62.34%, up from 53% in 2024.
Across Karnataka, 22 students scored a perfect 625 out of 625. Dakshina Kannada district topped the state with a pass rate of 91.12%, followed by Udupi (89.96%), Uttara Kannada (83.19%), and Shivamogga (82.29%).
Despite Kodagu’s strong showing, the district slipped in rankings, highlighting the fierce competition among top-performing regions. Kalaburagi (42.43%), Vijayapura (49.58%), and Yadgir (51.6%) remained at the bottom of the list.
