Congress leader allegedly shot dead by brother in Kodagu

Ponnampet: In a shocking turn of events, Mallanda Prakash, a local Congress leader and former president of Arvathoklu Gram Panchayat, was allegedly shot dead by his own brother, identified as Subramani, at a farm in Beguru. 

Mr Prakash, aged 57, tragically succumbed to his injuries on the spot. His son, who was also present at the scene, sustained injuries and has been swiftly transported to Mysuru for urgent medical treatment.

The motive behind Subramani's alleged actions remains unclear Ponnampet police have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter, said police officials. Ajjikuttira S Ponnanna, the legal advisor to the Chief Minister of Karnataka and also the Virajpet MLA, visited the spot on Saturday.
